Faculty Development provides an overview of the factors involved in developing highly competent instructors to teach medical students. The primary focus of the developmental process encompasses four key underlying elements-know, know how, show how, and do. The DVD also reviews the need for the process to address the ACGME core competencies (patient care, medical knowledge, and practice-based learning), as well as achieve specific individual outcomes (improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice).

Among the topics covered:

• Curriculum Development (William W. Dexter)
• Curriculum Development: Mentoring, Research, & Scholarship (Jonathan A. Drezner)
• Teaching Tips (Doug McKeag & Jeffrey L. Tanji)
• Teaching Residents and Fellows (James Moriarity)
• Teaching Medical Students OUR Experience (James M. Daniels)
• Teaching Musculoskeletal Medicine to Medical Students (Eric E. Coris)
• Teaching Medical Students (Amy P. Powell)
