Faculty Development provides an overview of the factors involved in developing highly competent instructors to teach medical students. The primary focus of the developmental process encompasses four key underlying elements-know, know how, show how, and do. The DVD also reviews the need for the process to address the ACGME core competencies (patient care, medical knowledge, and practice-based learning), as well as achieve specific individual outcomes (improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice).
